As per Article 10 of the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR Regulation (EU) 2023/988 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 May 2023 which came into effect on December 13th, 2024), a Manufacturer who is not established in the UE, but who wants to sell its products in the UE, has to appoint an Authorized Representative that will perform certain tasks in order to ensure the safety of its products.

Moreover, if you are an EU manufacturer or importer, you are not required to appoint an Authorized Representative, however you may still hire an Authorized Representative to perform specific administrative tasks.
